College Academy for Parents (CAP) is a FREE college preparation program defined by the belief that informed parents can be the best advocates for their child's success in entering college. The earlier a student and their family begin to prepare and understand the college preparation process, the more likely they will be to successfully enter a four-year university.

The College Academy for Parents is a comprehensive 12 week program that works with elementary school parents as they develop a college plan for their children. Program components include.

Workshops that engage parents with college knowledge and UA faculty members.
College camp provides activities for students K-12th grade coupled with messages encouraging college aspirations.
Campus visits focused on Math, Science, Language, Arts, & Culture.
A university hosted graduation ceremony for parent participants.

College Academy for Parents (CAP) is a FREE college preparation program defined by the belief that informed parents can be the best advocates for their child's success in entering college. The earlier a student and their family begin to prepare and understand the college preparation process, the more likely they will be to enter a four-year university successfully.

The University of Arizona Office of Early Academic Outreach is proud to partner with the Sunnyside Unified School District (SUSD) to provide the College Academy for Parents program to SUSD families for over 18 years. The program is offered in person over the course of 12 weeks January 31st - April 24th. The program will culminate in an in-person graduation ceremony planned to occur on the University of Arizona campus.

The program will be offered for families and students from Kindergarten to 12th grade:

Days: Wednesday, January 31 to April 24

Time: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Location: Apollo Middle School

*You will be divided based on preference of English or Spanish speaking sessions.

* Child care will be available for children not yet in Kindergarden

For K-12th students: College camp

Days: Wednesday, January 31 to April 24

Time: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Location: Apollo Middle School

*Students will be divided based on grade level.

Family graduation will be held on April 24, 2024 on the University of Arizona campus.

College Academy for Parents (CAP) es un programa GRATUITO de preparación universitaria definido por la creencia de que los padres informados pueden ser los mejores defensores del éxito de sus hijos al entrar en la universidad. Cuanto antes un estudiante y su familia comiencen a prepararse y comprender el proceso de preparación para la universidad, más probabilidades habrá de que ingresen con éxito a una universidad de cuatro años.

La Oficina de Early Academic Outreach de la Universidad de Arizona se enorgullece de asociarse con el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Sunnyside (SUSD) para proporcionar el programa College Academy for Parents a las familias de SUSD durante más de 18 años.
