Rachel Yanof Rachel has been involved in education since being an undergraduate at Georgetown University. From Alaska, she was surprised at the economic and educational disparity in the Washington DC area. Teach For America brought her to Phoenix to teach eighth grade. After four years, she wanted more systemic impact, and joined Building Excellent Schools. This led to founding Phoenix Collegiate Academy Charter School. Her first group of students all pursued post-secondary education, so she graduated too. Rachel was selected as the first Executive Director of Achieve60AZ, the statewide attainment goal. Rachel and Joe have three young children. |
