University of Arizona Summer Programs
“A” Camp
“A” Camp is Campus Recreation’s traditional day camp for campers ages 5-11 and Counselors-In-Training (CIT) ages 12-14. A typical day at camp consists of playing active groups games, creating arts & crafts, participating in engaging cooperative games and swimming in our Olympic-sized pool.
Algebra Academy
The Algebra Academy is a 120-hour summer program for current 8th grade students entering high school that allows students to construct their understanding of algebraic concepts via small-group, hands-on projects where students experience the application of math to the "real world."
Astronomy Camp
Astronomy Camp is all about discovering the Eureka moment! Under the dark skies of Southern Arizona, 12-19 year old students explore “the heavens” with large telescopes and experience the excitement of scientific inquiry. Located at the Mount Lemmon Observatory.
A Student's Journey (ASJ)
ASJ helps guide Tohono O'odham Community College (TOCC) students through the transition to 4-year universities within the state. ASJ is a year-long program with a 5-week on-campus summer experience at the University of Arizona for participating TOCC students.
Business Careers Awareness Program (BCAP)
University of Arizona's Eller College of Management Dhaliwal-Reidy School of Accountancy provides 11th grade students in high school with an opportunity to explore business careers, learn about UA, and become involved in the Eller community. BCAP participants will be ready to launch into college with confidence and connections.
Fusion Summer Camp
Fusion Camp at the University of Arizona is a summer camp in Tucson featuring science activities, arts and crafts, exploration of science exhibits, planetarium shows, and outdoor activity time for kids entering grades 1st through 5th in the fall semester. All sessions are taught by educators with a passion for inspiring a love of learning and fun!
Keep Engaging Youth in Science (KEYS)
The BIO5 Institute's annual KEYS program is one of Arizona’s premier training programs for high school students interested in developing STEM skills. Over the course of seven-weeks each summer, interns gain experience working on immersive, real-world projects under the mentorship of University of Arizona scientists. Must be 16 years of age on first day of program.
Med-Start Health Careers Program
The Med-Start Health Careers Program is a six-week summer academic enrichment program focused on improving access to information and resources for 11th grade high school students interested in the health professions.
Native American Science & Engineering Program (NASEP)
NASEP is a residential 1-week program and year-long experience designed to provide Native American, Alaskan Native, and Hawaiian Native high school students with a vision of a career in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field. Current high school students in 10th and 11th grades are eligible to apply.
New Start
New Start provides a smooth, comprehensive transition to the University of Arizona the summer before enrolling! The program serves current high school students who are graduating this year and enrolling at the University of Arizona.
Our Land, Our Education, and Our Health (OLEH)
Our Land, Our Education, and Our Health is a collaboration that began between the Tohono O’odham One Stop program and UA SWEHSC to offer students the opportunity to explore environmental health careers through an Indigenous lens and gain a sense of belonging on the University of Arizona campus.
Steps 2 STEM (S2S)
The S2S Summer Research Internship is a 4-week research experience for high school students participating in the Pima County JTED's Biotechnology and Healthcare Foundations programs. S2S Interns complete two days of science literacy training prior to spending the following four weeks working with professionals in STEM-related research laboratories across the University of Arizona campus.
Summer Engineering Academy (SEA)
SEA offers the opportunity to learn about pursuing engineering majors in college, while making meaningful connections with peers who share similar interests and passions. Current 8th through 11th grade students may apply.
Summer Entrepreneurship Academy
At the Summer Entrepreneurship Academy, our focus is on thinking differently and turning ideas into reality. During this one-week program at UA, students collaborate in teams to develop business ideas from concept to pitch. They’ll learn from university faculty, business leaders, and entrepreneurs through hands-on activities and real-world experiences. Field trips to companies provide insight into the business world, and the week ends with an exciting “Shark Tank” competition with prizes. Stay in the dorms, meet like-minded peers, and take your first step toward becoming an entrepreneur! (For current 8th-11th grade students.)
Summer Scrubs - UA College of Medicine in Phoenix
Summer Scrubs is a pair of health career exploration programs. The Explore Medicine Program helps current 11th grade high school students prepare for their future in the health professions. There also is The Healthcare Team option for 9th and 10th grade students.

Toxic Detectives
Toxic Detectives is a week-long summer program for middle school students (grades 6-8) that introduces students to the field of environmental health and toxicology. This program provides students with the opportunity to make real-world connections to their own environment through a variety of hands-on science experiments, research laboratory tours, and STEM professional guest speakers. In addition, students will get the chance to explore the University of Arizona campus as well as attend some off-campus field trips.
